• Description - Dabs is best known for it's dabs.com website, which sells a range of IT components and equipment. But, the Dabs Group has more than just one company. Dating back to 1987, when trading on the World Wide Web was not a part of the retail landscape, Dabs were founded by D.Atherton and B.Smith. As you have no doubt worked out, the word 'Dabs' was formed by using the initials of the cofounders. Eventually the business was one hundred percent owned by D.Atherton, long before the startling success of dabs.com.

Wide range of products, prices are usually the cheapest around, and delivery is pretty quick. The site is still confusing, information is not clearly displayed and finding what you want is time consuming. Dabs did redesign it a few years ago, it was even more convoluted, but the improvements were mostly cosmetic, and overall the site is only slightly easier to navigate. I've always tended to buy computer components from dabs, like memory ram and hard disks. I've never fancied buying larger items like PC's or LCD TV's. For tech newbie's the site must be even harder to buy from, it pretty easy to pick the wrong component, because there is nothing in the way of help or advice. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, but they be more successful if the site had a cleaner layout and guides for newbies.
