Plenty of branches and cash points, but there is little else to recommend.
Service can be sloppy, products are poor, high lending rates and low savings
rates, if your at the end of a computer glitch you are up sh*t creek without
a paddle. It's a pretty faceless company, so broad in it's depth you have
a hard time contacting the right person. If you get on the phone, your
passed from pillar to post. You want something sorting go into the branch,
they wont fix it quick, but the phones are next to worthless.

As soon as you have a problem you'll find it impossible to receive any help whatsoever. The phone operators send you to the branch, the branch will tell you you need to speak to the phone operators. There seems to be nobody who can help.
My wife's employers changed her monthly pay date and she had to change her direct debit date for her advance account loan with Barclays, this seemed to be an impossible task for Barclays, After a year of paying by standing order Barclays decided was not in the terms and conditions of the loan, they set up a direct debit on her behalf and took 2 payments of 100. Eventually she tried to take out another loan just to pay Barclays loan off, but due Barlcays her credit rating had been destroyed and she was unable to do so. I had to take out a loan to pay Barclays. We are currently trying to restore her credit rating with Barclays and Expedia.
